Cleveland, Ohio

Located along the southern shore of Lake Erie with the Cuyahoga River snaking through its downtown areas, Cleveland boasts a rejuvenated downtown with a lively nightlife, including restaurants in each district serving cuisine from around the world—Ethiopian, Slovenian, Indian, Italian (more than just in Little Italy), French, Portuguese, and more. You can still find local places that serve the cuisine of Cleveland’s early immigrants including schnitzel and strudel, stuffed cabbage and pierogies, paprikash and goulash, Irish stew and fishcakes. And don’t forget the local microbrews! Home cooks can shop at the West Side Market for fresh meat and poultry, produce, cheese, and ethnic specialties from over a hundred vendors.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed on Nov. 17, 2008 by Monica
I made this using half mayo/half sour cream, and marinated artichoke hearts as others suggested. It was really good and tasted like a chicken breast smothered in artichoke dip. Even my boyfriend who claimed to hate artichokes went back for seconds of this.

Barbecued Beef Ribs for Two

Reviewed on Nov. 17, 2008 by IRISHGINA74
I used this recipe more for the cooking instructions, I had no idea how to make ribs. These were outstanding!! My boyfriend said "OMG-WOW"!! The only thing I changed was I used pork western ribs, my store did not have any beef. I covered with foil for the first 45 mins, then uncovered for the last 15 mins. Thanks for teaching me how to make ribs!!

Spaetzle I

Reviewed on Nov. 16, 2008 by swimminash
Mmmmmmm...made these with Simple Beef Stroganoff. So good and easy! Next time I will try nutmeg. I wasn't able to squeeze the dough through colander holes, so I just pulled off little pieces and popped them in the boiling water. Thank you for a yummy dumpling recipe!
