This is a great bread for seed lovers, one of the tastiest I've tried.

This recipe for Kosher style dills was given to me 25 years ago by a farmers wife who grew cucumbers and it has never let me down. The two things I have found critical to crisp dill pickles are soaking the cukes in ice water for at least 2 hours and ensuring the brine is at a full boil when poured over the dills.

Delicious served warm with ice cream. If you don't have buttermilk, you may substitute sour milk. Stir 1 tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice together with 1 cup of milk and let stand for 10 minutes.

A moist not too sweet version of a figgy pudding but made with dates and minus the spices. You could try covering with buttered foil and steaming it for a even moister version. This can also be baked in a (28 ounce) can.

This is a great frozen summer drink that is very thirst quenching! Sweetened tea is mixed with lemonade, orange juice and gin, then frozen into a slush.

Strawberry Salad I

This is one of our favorite salad recipes. The combination of Romaine lettuce, toasted pecans, and fresh strawberries is unusual, but sooo good.

Sun-dried Tomatoes I

Worth their weight in gold. Four pounds of tomatoes and a bit of salt produce a quart of these amazing dried tomatoes. We like to store them in olive oil to keep them plump and moist.

If you like lemons, then you 'll love this creamy pie. It calls for lemon juice, lemon rind and a sprinkling of lemon zest. The lemon filling is sandwiched between layers of whipped cream and topped with a yummy meringue crust that is dusted with lemon zest.

If you love apple, raspberry, blackberry and rhubarb pies, then you 're in for a real treat. This dazzling pie has it all. There 's sugar to sweeten it and flour to thicken all the juices, but this pie has nothing else -just the wonderful flavors of these popular fruits.

Newfoundland Jigg's Dinner

Submitted by: MomWhoCooks
A traditional Newfoundland meal, comparable to Corned beef and cabbage. Newfoundland is Canada's easternmost province, and is an island in the Atlantic. Make sure that the split peas are securely tied into a cloth bag (pudding bag), a dish towel or cheesecloth, if they escape you will not have a dinner, you will have pea soup!!
